I am not sure how long I have known about Verdon. A gorge I have wanted us to walk for a long time, but it remains elusive.

Millau- A bridge to return to
Today was to be a longish journey. We were heading for Italy, but on route a couple of stops, a bridge I had wanted to see for a long time and the Verdon gorge, two inspirational pieces of engineering, one created by man, the other by god, well more precisely, the erosion of rock by water over millions and millions of years.
Happy end in Spain
Dora is sorted. Her new (well relatively new) fifth gear allows us to drive over 60 kilometres an hour. Such a luxury, we are going to start calling her ‘Speedy-Gon-Dora’. Also, her battery circuit has not failed once. We feel relief but nonetheless still sad leaving Spain.
Incredibly frustrating!
We had such a lovely time skiing in Vall de Nuria that we thought of having another sky day in Vallter 2000. We drove all the way up there. The next day was quite foggy. Skiing in the fog is not pleasant so we decide to drive down to Arbucies. Dora’s gear may have arrived today.

What a difference a day can make
We wake to a lovely morning at St Celoni. We still have a half an hour drive to Santa Fe, the place from where our second trek in Montseny starts. The trek today: climbing up to the two highest peaks of the park: Turo de l’Homme and Les Agudes, both around 1700 metres.
Hanging around for Dora
Well, it seems we are going to spend a few more days around this area until the fifth gear comes next week (see previous post). The Pyrenees are only a couple of hours drive away and we fancy a days skiing, but tomorrow is Saturday, the slopes will probably get quite busy, so better leave the skiing for Monday. So what should we do around here over the weekend?
Poor Dora
We leave Morella heading north towards Barcelona, and out of Spain. We will both be sad. It has been such an important part of the journey for us. But before we go we have arranged to see a specialist mechanic who is just outside Girona.
Away from Morella, away from Dora
We sought tranquil landscapes, cute villages, a normal double bed and a rest bite from the wind. A walk to some remote villages and back sounded idyllic.
Hilltop town, Morella and the castle
To the north of Valencia is the hilltop town of Morella. Our guide suggested there were good opportunities for walking around the area and this most picturesque of villages.
